Automotive air-filter elements: specify the media and the finished part
We are Premier Plasmotec Private Limited, an Indian manufacturer with moulding, assembly and filtration-system capabilities. Our published process material includes pleating, printing, filter fitment and air-cleaner performance testing. For an element enquiry, we first establish what is manufactured, what is bought in and what evidence applies to the finished element.

Define the element supply boundary
Identify whether the enquiry is for an engine air-filter element, a cabin filter or another filtration product. Supply the part drawing, service application and mating housing. An air-cleaner assembly, a filter element and filter media are different items even when they appear in the same bill of materials.
State whether the supplier is responsible for media selection, forming or pleating, end features, sealing, identification and packaging. Where a customer specifies a bought-out medium or a nominated source, include that requirement. Do not assume a filtration-system capability automatically includes manufacturing every media type.

Fit and sealing need controlled geometry
Show the element envelope, sealing faces, location features and installation direction. Include the housing interface and any assembly compression or retention requirement defined by the design. A nominal overall size is not sufficient to establish the completed sealing arrangement.
Identify the dimensional and appearance characteristics required at receipt and after any specified conditioning. Agree how flexible sealing features are measured and how the element is installed for functional assessment. Reference samples should be controlled and used alongside the drawing.
A media description is not a performance result
Provide the approved media specification or the performance requirements used to select it. State the operating airflow, relevant contaminants, service environment and customer test method. Supplier literature for a medium should be distinguished from results for the formed element and the complete assembly.
When alternative materials are proposed, agree how they will be assessed and who authorises the change. Maintain identification of the material, element design and revision in the validation record. A material change may affect more than one requirement and should follow the customer’s change-control process.
Assess the element within its system
Restriction, filtration efficiency, sealing and durability requirements should be connected to the relevant test and acceptance criteria. Premier’s public air-cleaner page describes system performance-testing capability, but it does not publish a universal element rating. Ask for evidence applicable to the actual construction and installation.
Decide which requirements are checked at initial approval and which become routine production controls. Include any marking, traceability, packing and protection requirements that affect the element delivered to the assembly line or service channel.
Prepare a manufacturing enquiry
Send the drawing, media specification, housing interface, demand, tooling or fixture status, test requirements and target dates. Explain whether the programme needs development samples, a transfer of an existing design or ongoing production supply. Identify any customer-owned tooling and nominated bought-out items.
Our Indian network includes Hosur air-cleaner assembly and connected engineering, moulding and quality functions. The current production location and exact element-construction scope should be confirmed in the enquiry. We do not claim a universal media-manufacturing process or filtration-efficiency result from the generic term filter element.
