Tool Room Engineering
Production moulds, designed and made in-house.
The tool room reviews the part, analyses the mould, machines the steel, fits the mould and supports trials before production.
Tool room process
How a mould moves through the tool room.

- 01

Approved geometry and programme requirements establish the tooling brief. Review the part
Confirm function, geometry, material, machine and critical dimensions.
Review engineering - 02

Flow and cooling analysis inform manufacturability and tool decisions. Analyse the mould
Review manufacturability, flow, cooling and split strategy where required.
- 03

The released CAD definition establishes the machining and toolmaking route. Design the tool
Convert the approved part geometry into the mould design and machining plan.
- 04

CNC machining carries the controlled tool definition into steel. Machine and assemble
Produce the mould parts, fit them and complete spotting.
- 05

Tool corrections and trial evidence are recorded before release. Trial and correct
Run trials, measure the parts and record required corrections.
Review validation - 06

Spotting and correction prepare the mould for production. Move into production
Transfer the approved mould, settings and maintenance requirements to manufacturing.
